After his creepingly malevolent 'Ambiance Brut', Wales' Dave Handford returns in the guise of avenging arm of the Lord, DJ Methodist. His preferred means of afflicting the unrighteous is a sack full of eardrum-scouring noise, manipulated into consistently interesting shapes on tracks that stop just short of making you cry. It's like Merzbow-goes-pop, and it isn't remotely 'achingly beautiful'. Good. 4/5 DUNCAN BELL - MUZIK - DECEMBER 2001
